Countdown To Extinction

Megadeth guns for arena thrash success and gets it on Countdown to Extinction. Megadeth trades in their lengthy, progressive compositions for streamlined, tightly written and played songs more conducive to radio and MTV airplay. The album reached #2 on U.S. Billboard charts and was certified double Platinum in 1992. Countdown To Extinction was nominated for a "Best Metal Performance" Grammy in 1992.
