Dave Mustaine has issued the following statement to clarify reports that he has endorsed Rick Santorum for president: "Contrary to how some people have interpreted my words, I have not endorsed any presidential candidate. February 11, 2012 - DAN SPITZ'S RED LAMB: 'THE CAGE' VIDEO RELEASED
"The Cage", the first video from Red Lamb, the new Palm Beach, Florida-based rock trio led by former Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz, can be seen HERE. The song comes off the band's self-titled debut album, which was released earlier this week via iTunes. The 12-song effort was co-produced by Dave Mustaine and Spitz and is described in a press release as "explosive hard rock, pop punk, alternative rock, with a taste of thrash." The CD was mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Johnny K (Megadeth, Disturbed, 3 Doors Down, Drowning Pool) and it features cover artwork by John Lorenzi, who worked on the last three Megadeth studio albums.

During a brand new interview with the Detroit Free Press, Dave Mustaine was asked how he is feeling several months after undergoing surgery for stenosis, a neck and spine condition that he says was caused by years of headbanging. "My neck is completely recovered," he said. "The surgery was a breeze. The doctor I used ... did Peyton Manning's surgery. Fortunately, my recovery time has been a lot faster than Peyton's.
